You are right to be concerned, as you are approaching your towing limit. If you see a 32' 8,000 lb trailer you like, it may be too much.

Fords sway control kicks in only during a severe sway event and uses the brakes to get it under control and greatly slow the rig down.
It isn't a cure for a sway problem.
