Just bought a Tracker automatic 4WD ... assuming that is good for towing 4 down ? just kick the transfer case into neutral? What to do about the steering ? I assume the steering wheel should be unloc...

Yes, putting the transfer case in neutral and steering wheel unlocked. Your manual should confirm under emergency towing.
