Not silly at all. Towing an 8000 pound truck with your coach is child's play if it's like you say, a 42 footer with a 450 hp engine. It likely is 12+ liters, has over 1500 ft./lbs of torque and similar engines move 80K+ pounds across the country every day. The caveat to this of course is making sure the tow bar and hitch are up to the task. With an air braked coach I'd look for a toad braking system that runs off the coach air brakes.
