I've been towing our 2003 Jeep GC Overland for awhile now and it's been great but last month my wife asked why we don't tow our 2006 Jeep Liberty Diesel instead since it has fewer miles (62 K vs. 94K)...

What does it say in the owners manual about towing? Jeep has been pretty good about putting specific details in the manual. Are you able to completely disengage the front and rear drives via the transfer case? i.e. does it freely roll away if the engine is off and the transfer case is in N (or some such)?
If so, it can likely be towed just like your other Jeep.
In checking the FMCA towing guide it does show the 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD (Diesel) with automatic transmission as being towable. It has n/a by manual transmission.
