towing a small boat behind travel trailer

Has anyony tried towing a small boat on a trailer behind your travel trailer. My tt is only 19 ft so i won't be over the lenght limit. Mounting a hitch or welding something to the frame is the question. Also will i feel anything different when i pull it , is it safe also
  • Lots of people tow exactly the combo you are considering here in Idaho. (It is completely legal here) I have never done it myself, but others handle it very successfully.
  • Check with the states your going to travel in. Its legal and safe if done properly. I towed an enclosed trailer behind my 28ft tt for several years. It works quite well. You might need an endorsment or different class drivers license though so check with your state. Most on here just believe its not legal without ever doing the legwork. Also dont rely on websites that show towing regs, you have to check with each state itself.
  • Dbl tow is allowed in some states but only behind a motorhome or fifth wheel...never a travel trailer. First call should be to your insurance company to see if they will cover pulling behind a travel trailer.
  • Double towing is regulated state by state. You need to check your states regulations to get the correct answer. Most states either require a CDL or that the first trailer be a 5th wheel....or both.
