Too much trailer for a 150 and way too much for the 2.7

Oh geeze, I missed the part about it being a 2.7. Yeah, don't tow a trailer that big with that.

There are more ratings to consider with RVing than tow ratings and GCWR. Some other ratings is typically exceeded for half tons towing travel trailers well under the tow ratings.

6500 pounds dry will likely be closer to 7500 than the 7000 pounds you estimate. That means 900-1000 pounds of loaded tongue weight. Does your truck have 1800 pounds of payload to handle the TW, people, and cargo in bed? Confirm by locating this sticker on driver's door and note what yours says where mine says 2051:

The dry weigh likely doesn't include batteries, propane, or water. Depending on where you got that number it may not even include optional equipment that is already on the trailer. I suspect you will be adding a lot more than #500 pounds to the trailer's "dry" weight.

Your 855# didn't take the tongue weight (TW) in to account. At 6500 dry, that will be 1,000# with weight distribution hitch (WDH). I bet you are now at 6,500# for truck, 6,500# for trailer dry and now at GCWR.

You need a 4500.# dry TT.

So, our original TV was a 2013 F150 Ecoboost. Our toyhauler trailer is about 6900lbs dry, and probably was under 8000lbs loaded as we didn't have a lot of stuff in it when we first got it (didn't haul a toy or anything like that). We had all the proper equipment and tires etc. Towing it with the F150 was not a fun experience, even though the #'s indicated it should be fine. It was only really comfortable to tow if the road was straight, no grades, and there was no wind and nothing large (semi or bus) going the other direction. We upgraded the truck to a 250 and it was much MUCH better.

So, ditto, less trailer or more truck.

More truck or less trailer.

Unless you get the truck weighed in camping configuration with the hitch, gear and passengers you're only guessing at the weight.
My bet is you'll be over on the rear axle.
Engine-wise, I've got the 3.5EB and would not want anything less for the TT in my sig.

Keep the trailer GVWR within the tow rating for best results.
