The Cadillac SRX requires that you install a 12-volt cigarette lighter receptacle under the dash and wire it directly to the battery since the OEM outlets are dead when towing (Engine off and vehicle in neutral).
And, like many braking units, the RVibrake requires a breakaway switch in the front bumper with the wire running to the RVibrake in the DS floor.
So, my dilemma is where to run the two wires. The firewall is double walled. I found one grommet where the hood release runs through the firewall but I cannot get a probe through that location.
I will look at the steering wheel grommet. Is there anything I can mess up by running the wire next to the steering wheel?
