Towing car and motorcycle

My son wants to join us on vacation and take his bike (500 lb Honda) There is a VersaHaul Motorcycle carrier that fits onto my hitch and allows you to also tow. It says it can to 3,000 lbs. I tow a Honda FIT which weigh in at about 2,500. Anyone have experience towing a car with a motorcycle carrier attached?

    I have the Versahaul setup to support a dual sport and Mtn bikes.

    Smaller dual sport (300 lbs, versahual weight 90 lbs, bike rack 40 lbs, bikes 50 lbs) --we are at our 500 lb range for the hitch.



    The main issue is the amount of weight the hitch on your RV can take, because the motorcycle is 500 lbs, the rack 90'ish, and then the tow portion from the hookup of the car .....

    Most Class III hitches are rated for 500 lbs.

    Most Class IV hitches are rated for 1000 lbs.
