Towing Jeep Liberty on a dolly?

Hello all,

If a newer Liberty can be falt towed with the transfer case in neutral, can it also be towed on a tow dolly?

It's my girlfriends rig and rather than invest in the flat tow setup I'd like to be able to use my dolly with it. It seems to me if the transfer case can be put in neutral, what difference does it make if it is on a dolly vs. flat?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

agree on the answer is NO for towing JEEP vehicles... Even though you have it in neutral the gears keep turning when being towed WITHOUT a dolly. Consider this answer from another forum

"If you are going to use a tow dolly you must disconnect the rear driveshaft. The rotation of the front driveshaft is what helps pump the fluid through the transfer case. If the rear is spinning and the front is not the transfer case can over heat and cause damage.

Best option is to flat tow or remove the rear driveshaft and use the dolly."
