Duraburbs are hella expensive and 12V Fummins are only for mechanics/tinkerers. No avg Joe is going to convert a Ford to a Cummins powered truck. They are sweet though. A buddy did a P pumped 12 valve in an Eddie Bauer Excursion. Nice unique tow rig.
Agree that if one of the big 3 slapped a full SUV body on a new 3/4 -1ton chassi tomorrow, it would sell like hot cakes and it wouldn't matter who made it. Buyers from all 3 would buy it. And right now with the economy, cheap fuel and the popularity of excessive trucks, it would be hugely successful.
In the mean time, if that's what you must have, snap up a good Burb or Ex while they're still available.
