The other issue is the maximum hitch weight for the Escape is 300Lbs.
The Palomini has a dry hitch weight of 443Lbs. If you load up the trailer to 3500Lbs, then the hitch goes up to about 455 to 525Lbs depending on how the weight is distributed.
