Towing report

Well, we just got about 700 miles on the new rig, and after moving some stuff around i am right at the max on the truck, see...........

http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/28754030.cfm

The 2015 F350 just walked up any hills, we were traveling I20 from central TX to Las Cruces NM. Got about 10 MPG avg for both days. Despite the fact that I only have a SRW truck, I could not be more pleased. I am using a B&W 20000 LB hitch, which I love.Only had one hiccup, no 12 volt inside 5th, until the techs at McClains Rv in Sanger Tx figured it out.It was a simple fix, a safety breaker right at one of the battery's needed to be reset.

All in all a good pull, be safe.

Yep those STUPID CBs usually hidden just aft of the battery and never mentioned can be a MAJOR NUISANCE and I'm surprised yours weren't self setting. Also, many times they are in terrible locations and can fail just from corrosion like mine did after only a couple of years. When I replaced mine I entombed them in 3M Scotch Kote to try and make them last a little longer along with carrying some spares just incase.

Good to hear back, that the tow is going well, and that you got axle weight within specs.

Yes, those are great hitches, solid and very user friendly!

I do not know for sure, I just think I have moved enough to get me there. I am plenty satisfied with the rig as it is, and probably will not weigh again anytime soon. I will most likely upgrade the tires next time around.I also am not going to top off the aux tank anymore, due to the distances we go in a day's travel will not warrant it.

  • Cool! Glad you had a good trip. Figuring out all the little nuances and twerks of a new coach is lots of fun. Makes me want to go to the spring show!
    Happy trails!
