I'm no expert, but if the truck wanders without the trailer, the problem is not the trailer, it is the truck. Most likely the front suspension is messed up somehow.
Whatever you do, don't tow again until you get it figured out. You might not come back.
And yes, those WDH bars are supposed to be stressed. I, too, cannot remove them without both a 15 inch piece of pipe as a pry bar and raising up the hitch and tail of the TV with the trailer's tongue jack. If you can just pull up to a stop, and pop the WDH bars off, they are not doing the job for you.
