I tow a 20' enclosed trailer weighing 6000-8000 lbs behind a truck carrying a 4000 lb truck camper. Because of the truck camper rear overhang, I have 28" extension off the receiver. This tows fine at 65 mph with weight distribution and no sway control. The first truck was a Ford F250 and now it is behind a Ram 5500. You can look at my profile to see trailer details. If you plan to tow faster than 65 mph, plan on upgrading to higher speed rated tires than the typical ST's I run.
