First off I want to say this forum is great. What a wealth of knowledge.Now to my question. This was my first time pulling a TT with this truck and it seemed like if the road got a little bumpy the back end wanted to roll side to side. I am wondering if this is because of the Independant rear suspension?All of my experience with towing has been with straight axle trucks. The roll didn't scare me or make me feel out of control, just different.

We need a bit more info. What year of Expy, engine size, does it have the HD tow package? Also, what length and weight (or model number and year) of your trailer.When I moved from a 4,400 lbs. trailer to a 7,300 lbs. trailer, I started getting a LOT of rear end wiggle on my '04 Expy with HD tow package. I ended up with a larger tow vehicle.

Your hitch configuration would be valuable information as well. We had a Jayco 19H hybrid that was about 20ft long and about 4K-5K pounds and the Expy towed it better than my F150 did. We have since upgraded TT and had to get a new TV.

2008 with the heavy duty tow package. 5.4 engine. Equalizer 4 point sway bars (1000 lbs.). Trailer is a NorthTrail 32 buds weighed in at 8200 lbs +/- on the scale with everything in it ready for camping ( no water).It doesn't feel like the back of truck is swaying side to side but more of a rolling effect.

I didn't think about the tires. They are P tires not LT. While I would love to get a Hensley or ProPride my pockets aren't that deep.
The truck pulls the trailer great other than the rolling effect and it isn't bad just an observation.

How many miles

Lifted and/or over sized tires

Yes, 'P' rated tires and their ride quality that then makes the sidewalls

What is the tongue weight?

Has the OEM shocks been changed yet? What to?

With that size of TT this is what you should have...

Hensley or Pro Pride connection systems.

Lot of possiblities here. LT tires? Soft suspension? Improper WD adjustment? Tongue weight?
