I was wondering how many tow with there refrigerators running on propane?
Look at where your propane lines run and where your tires are going to go if they blow. For me, it is likely I damage the propane lines when the tire blows. I would prefer the gas to be off if that happens.
Buy and use the little battery operated fans for RV fridges. It circulates the air, keeps things cool. You could also get the 12v fridge fan mod on ebay and just hook it into the rv power. - Y-GuyModeratorI had the same question/concern when we started RVing. Same advice I was given then, do it. But when you pull in to fuel up, turn it off. In our case my kids know when we pull in gas station one of them turns off the Fridge, I verify it and go about our way. Key is to turn it back on once you pull away.

I don't see 2015 on that list! I have also always towed with the fridge on but after witnessing a RV gas explosion I am having second thoughts. I do think there is come credible reasoning with not having a open flame when getting gasoline... - michigansandzilExplorerYes.

- Iraqvet05ExplorerAll the time. Be aware that you may have to shut the propane off under certain circumstances (IE passing thru a tunnel or crossing on a ferry)

we've been doing it since we started this RV thing back in 1986. not dead yet.
I witnessed a gas explosion in a RV a few weeks back, it blew the roof up, windows and slide out. Pretty impressive. It started giving me second thoughts about leaving any gas on...
I see. well, we always shut off the fridge when fueling. - TvovExplorer IISo, do you want responses from people who don't tow with the gas refrig on?
