Wow!
All great responses!
This is exactly what I was hoping for, advice from tractor users.
I wasn't clear enough about what I wanted the tractor for. In addition to using it for TT moving, I need a bush hog (60" or so), front loader, and I probably would add a backhoe in the future.
Our local dealers carry John Deere, Kubota, New Holland, and Cub Cadet. I'll check them out for the latest deals. Also will check CL for good used name brands.
The current David Brown I have is leaking hydraulic fluid everywhere. A few years ago a hose burst under load and instantly atomized the fluid (which appears to be regular SAE 30 oil as per the owners manual) and left me and the tractor in a fog of oil. Took a long time to clean off the tractor and me. I think the costs of replacing all the worn oddball and one-off hydraulic parts that are leaking would take a lot of time and money and I would be better off finding a new or used name-brand tractor.
Thanks everyone.
