"Highly integrated" IBC's are way too complicated and IMHO, best to
go with an after market that is independent of the TV's computer
system(s) and network(s). I like P2/P3 and highly recommend either, as
both are the same except for the better display of the P3

I have a Jeep Cherokee SUV with towing package, and am pulling a Coleman travel trailer. I have a weight distribution bar.
It has electric brakes.
Without the trailer attached, I can go any speed I like.
Today, with the trailer attached, when I get up to about 50 MPH +, my SUV back brakes start locking up and smoking.
Key to diag'ing this, if correct info from the OP
Only when the trailer is attached...without no problem
So it is with the Trailer. From the trailer to the IBC
Since IBC's are "highly integrated"...it will bring into the game everything
it is integrated with. From the tire PSI sensors...to ABS...to traction
control...to torque management...to the tranny computer/sensors...and a big ETC
So if they are all okay without the trailer connected...it says to me
that the problem is with the trailer back to the IBC
Could also be a corroded connection from the IBC to trailer brakes
Things to know. I towed the vehicle with no problems for two summers, and earlier this summer with no problems..
I recently redid my back brakes on the suv, and have not towed the trailer until today.
Ask if driving without the trailer hooked up and no problems is with
these new TV rear brake work
If yes, then am more for sure it is the trailer to IBC
I also added a sway bar to the trailer hitch between the last time I pulled the trailer, and this time.
Should have nothing to do with the braking, but good to list all
the changes since the last time you towed with no issues
When the brakes lock up, I think the ABS on the SUV is activating as well.
Falls in line with what been saying for years...IBC's are "highly
integrated" with the rest of the TV's computer systems...so no telling
if it is the IBC or whatever it is connected to that is failing or
sensors telling something is wrong
I would appreciate any opinions on this issue. I intend to travel across 3 states next week, and obviously cannot do so with this issue.
I searched these forums and the web about 3 hours before I posted this.
Thanks in advance.
