At Quartzsite AZ at the big RV show they have a mesh type fabric that fastens on the top and comes down, anchors to the ground and provides shade - it's movement is fluid, so wind doesn't bother it. Have also seen shadecloth used in the SE - they used pvc pipe to build a frame for the shadecloth.
