We run ATV's all the time, and have seen the result of using that stuff on ATV tires and wheels. If left in there, it will cause your steel wheel to corrode and rust, making them unusable. Some tire shops will not work on a tire that has been subjected to this goo. I heard one tire shop say that they will not touch a tire that has this stuff because it is explosive. I'm not too convinced of that. But, it does destroy steel wheels over time, have seen that myself. Don't know what it will do on an aluminum alloy wheel, but it can't be good for it.
Many new vehicles now come with no spare, like my new Mustang Bullitt. They do include a can of some type of tire inflator/sealer, and they specify that it is to be used to stop a small leak, and to have the tire removed ASAP. At $1400 a wheel, I'll call a flat bed wrecker to tow it in first.
I might use it on an ATV or trailer with a leak in the tread area, just to get me back to civilization and a tire shop for a proper repair, but use it permanently to avoid leaks or blowouts? Never.
