Kind of a strange question, but do you guys have certain days of the week you prefer as travel days? For me, I avoid Fridays whenever possible.

When I was a kid I preferred to travel at night. Not anymore though.

If your retired, avoid weekends. Let the folks who are still working have those days.

We are retired and want to stay out of the way of folks still working. We usually travel on Tuesday or Wednesday. This seems to yield the most available campsites to choose from. We also travel around rush hours. Usually between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

We work, so we go when we can. But as one who works nights, I have noticed that I-77 is busier on Thursday nights around 9-10 pm (when I go to work) than any other day of the week to include weekends.

I plan on avoiding larger cities completely. If necessary, do it on Sundays.

I hope "you guys" includes us women!! ;) Anyway, I try not to travel on Friday's and Sunday's as that's when the "world" travels!

Edit: Never mind - googled it... You're probably talking about the one further down 95 - after DC. We'll have to keep that in mind. :)

we are retired and rarely pay attention to what day it is. Most of the time we don't even KNOW what day it is, so no, we don't avoid certain days. Sometimes if we can't get a reservation for tomorrow, we realize its because its a Saturday.
