DW and I did two weeks driving in Late Sept 2001. Started in Zurich and ended up in Paris. Went from Mid Switzerland, through Germany, Northern France toward Normandy coast. It was a lot of driving. Mostly back roads with no more than one night in any one place. If I were to repeat it, I would be a month at minimum so we could stay more than one night and really enjoy an area before we had to move on. As it was we stopped for a picture and had to hit the road again. Europe is not a place one should hurry through to just get to the destination. It needs to be savored on a personal level, IE, slow and easy.
