Travel Trailer Wax Streaking

A little while ago I posted about a problem with a magic eraser mark left on my fiberglass trailer 2003 Starcraft Aruba and I tried Polishing and waxing it when it started to dry it is leaving steak marks I used TurtleWax Polishing Compound and the liquid Turtle Wax along with microfiber towels and made sure not to do all this in direct sunlight in fact I did it in the evening after sundown when it was considerably cooler what can I do to remedy this problem or is this something I am doing wrong.

Thanks,

  • After using a poishing compound the next step is to wash it thououghly to remove all the loosened oxidation. If that is not done the residue is mixed into the wax causing the streaks.
  • Is the surface oxidized? You might have rubbed off some of the oxidized surface and now it looks like a streak. I have had older cars that the paint was oxidized and when I tried to wax it the result was streaky and not very shiny. Sometimes a faded surface just does not come back.
