Traveling from Texarkana to Eureka Springs
We are planning a trip to Eureka Springs in April from Texarkana. We would like to avoid the highways that have steep climbs through mountain areas. Even if it means a longer trip, does anyone have ...

71 isn't steep between Texarkana and Fort Smith. It does have some grades, but they are not big ones.
Since the interstate through the mountain was completed - driving from Fort Smith to Fayetteville is easy.
I also love the Pig Trail from Ozark north. But it does have some steep sections.
Heck, I took my TT up old 71 over the mountain a couple years ago on a trip to Devil's Den. What was a horrible hectic trip when I was in college back 40+ years ago is now a pleasant near traffic free drive. But it is steep and long going up the hill.
