Check with your current vehicle insurer. Most US insurers will cover your vehicle with your current property and liability insurance while in Canada. However, your US proof of insurance card is not valid in Canada. Ask your insurer to provide you with a Canada Non-Resident Inter-Provincial Proof of Insurance card.
If you currently have roadside emergency service, that should be valid in Canada. Check with your service.
Most medical insurance is not valid in Canada. Medicare is not. You can buy medical insurance for your trip if you feel the need. Google will find you many sources. Do your own research.
Also, do your research about border crossings. Know what you need and what you can cross with (both ways) and what you can't.
