If you want 30% off MSRP (whatever that mythical number is) you can't expect top dollar for your trade. You want that then be prepared to pay big hirachis for the new unit. It makes no difference if the new trailer is listed at $80,000 and they offer 30 for your twelve year old cream puff or you grind them to 60 and get offered 10 you are still paying 50 difference. Haggling can be a good thing but we need to be realistic in our expectations.
We bought our first new trailer in February 06, 30% off and top dollar for our Award TT. We then went back in 2 years and bought a bigger one. Again I got the 30% off and I got $2k less for our trade then what I paid new!
Which is why I will go back to that dealer again (Pontiac RV in Pontiac IL).
There are good dealers and bad dealers, this is a good dealer!
