Mirrors are not properly adjusted.
People love to "see" the side of the their vehicles. WRONG WRONG WRONG. I don't care one iota what the side of my vehicle looks like, I want to see the car in my blind spot.
If you are referring to my mirror pic the big one is tilted down to see the side clearance for my rear tire. The spot is pushed all the way out. I took the pic from the side of the truck NOT the drivers seat. The spot does show a bit of the side as does the big mirror when I am in the drivers seat as a reference as it should be.
I rarely look over my shoulder towing or not.
Responding to OP.
I would still question your desire to see any part of the tow vehicle in your mirrors.
Keep in mind the is your OPINION. I like to just see the very edge of my vehicle for reference. Keep in mind I drive panel sided vans for several years in Seattle and Tocoma metro area. There is no other vehicle with greater blind spot than a panel sided van. In my OPINION one needs that reference to gauge which lane vehicles on your right side are in.
If you think that is hard, try making the adjustment from a left drive to right drive vehicle.
