When I am on the highway and someone is trying to merge on from a ramp - if they don't turn their head I assume they don't see me. I definitely don't trust their mirror.
Sorry, I glance back at the top of the ramp to figure where I will fit, you likely will not see me glance back again. May move my head to look back down the lane in the mirror.
To me there is nothing more dangerous than a driver that needs to look over their shoulder for an extended time before being able to make the decision to change lanes. I am talking almost 180 degree, with no sight forward.
This is why I use mirrors, looking in either side you still have forward in your periphery vision.
