Being retired I don't go on holiday weekends and go to popular destinations during the off season or midweek. Another tip is to go to areas with a lower density population.
I suggest you rent a RV before purchasing to see if you even enjoy RV'ing.
I have found some of the out of the way places that are almost desolate and very scenic.
RV'ing is my preferred mode of travel others might enjoy a 5 star motel, it all depends on the person's wants and needs.
