We get the same treatment whether it's a paid ad as on RV Trader or free craigslist ad. Then there are people who want us give them a bunch of money to pay off their lien so they can get the title and then sign it over. We think too many things could go wrong with that. Seems like going to a dealer is the path of least resistance. Anyone else having these issues?
I don't know how you are conducting these calls. If you start negotiating price on a vehicle I am selling before having seen it, you are telling me one of two things.
1. you can't afford a fair price and are trying to 'steal' it, or
2. you are only a tire kicker
Either way I will terminate the discussion because you are just wasting my time.
If they have a loan, how would you expect them to give you a title they do not have? A bill of sale is issued and the title is provided later. If it makes you more comfortable, send the money to the lien holder instead of the seller. It is a complication but not insurmountable.
