Here is your answer from Hensley: "Trailer sway occurs when the side forces on the trailer cause the trailer to move side to side behind the tow vehicle. We call it “fishtailing.”" Sounds like you have not experienced it and if your rig is set up properly you won't experience it even if you may be under powered. The only thing the bigger TV is going to do is give you more power so you don't slow down so much. You will also just feel more solid and sure footed.
I used to tow a trailer all over the US and Mexico with a 1500 and never felt white knuckled or squirelly. I only got the 2500 when I bought a large fiver for full-timing. I must admit it is now nice to pull our smaller trailer with the diesel as I never slow down no matter the incline. But you don't experience sway with your current rig so that is no reason to change. But if you want more power... go for it.
