Durango owner where the door sticker didn't match up with his scaled weights
That thread sure didn't clear anything up.
Looking at Consumers Reports. They supposedly actually weigh their vehicles.
Durango AWD V6 = 5,105 How much extra does the Hemi weight?
7100-5105 = 1,995 lbs payload. CR lists 1,200 lbs as payload but they say it could be mfg. rating or GVWR minus their scaled weight of empty vehicle.
Ford AWD V6 = 4,780
6160-4780 = 1,380 lbs payload. CR lists 1,280 lbs as payload but they say it could be mfg. rating or GVWR minus their scaled weight of empty vehicle.
It seems like the Durango might have the payload edge unless Dodge has some unknown reason for undercutting the payload sticker even though you won't hit the GVWR? Too bad you can't borrow a Durango and drive across the scales with it.
