TST sensors: which small screwdriver to use?

I have been replacing batteries in my TST tire pressure sensors, but I don't have the proper kind of screwdriver and am certainly ruining the tiny screws. (I have a very small standard screwdriver that works, sort of, but the screws are phillips screws.)

Does anyone know which phillips screwdriver should be used, and where can I find one?

I use the type used to fix eyeglasses. Works great.

X2 My dollar store eyeglass repair kit came with 3 small straight and and 2 small Phillips screwdrivers, and one of the Phillips is perfect for the TST 507 sensor security cap screws.

Looks like you dollar store kit is better than mine. I only got three screwdrivers with my kit.

It probably came from a different part of China... :B
  • one more thing about these TST units. The thin circle of plastic that the screw goes through will break with age. A call to TST and they will send replacements for free.

  • Those screws strip out real easy. Barely tighten them, as soon as you feel resistance stop.

  • Roy, I am not familiar with your system but if you need small screwdrivers, check out the small packaged ones at a big box store. They start from the size for glasses and go up. Good Luck.
  • I have a set of small screw drivers that includes both Phillip's and straight bits. One of the Phillip's fits perfectly on the sensors. I got this set from Sears.
