TT toilet

2011 Rockwood Ultralite TT. When I flush the toilet the ball ? won't close unless I lift up the foot pedal with my foot. We've cleaned it & tried vaseline, WD40 & vegetable oil to no avail. The strange thing is when I shut off the water to try & fix it it closes perfectly every time until I turn the water back on, then I'm back to the same problem. Any ideas ?

  • Thank you. Letting the foot pedal snap back quickly seems to have solved the problem. Cheers, Marty
  • Don't use any petroleum product on your seal. Use Silicone, olive oil or Silicone plumbers grease.

That is the correct procedure for the ball type toilets.
  • Throw out the WD40 but keep the veggie oil for cooking; use silicone spray on the valve shaft and work it a few times.
  • Try cleaning the underside of the ball seal. My toity came with one of those tan disposable finger nail files to clean the seal with.

  • Problem is in a sticky water valve instead of the bowl seal?
