UGH....WINTER

Every day, I look at the TT covered, looking sad and lonely.
Come on Spring!! I can't wait to open up the ole gal, air her out, clean her up and finish a couple of projects started late in the year.
then she'll be hooked up to go to the CG to fill her with the laughing and happiness and yes, the fighting and arguing that goes with taking your twin teens and two granddaughters camping, but that's what this mama bear loves.
So any ideas on speeding up this winter BS?

Don't get me wrong, we have tons of laughing, happiness and fighting in the house but I've got cabin fever bad and it's not even Feb.
    Jealous of all you 'snowbirds'.

I really feel sorry for those of you in the hard winter areas!!!

We get four seasons here in the PNW, but not real hard, we spent eight great days on the Oregon Coast between Christmas day and January 2nd!!
We winterize our 5er several times a season.
  • Yes, winter slowly grinds ts way forward. Windows are still open by day around here. Still too warm to be wearing jeans & working outside. House painting, almost 7 cans worth, is almost finished. A couple days of trim work & that is one big job out of the way.

Next is hauling the diesel engine out of the boat that has been sitting unused since we got into this RVing thing. Servicing & painting that should keep me busy in the rainy days of February & March to come.

Next fall will be overhaul mechanical spaces of the boat & maybe get the engine back in.

You got to embrace the winter. You can't go snowshoeing or ice skating on a pond in the summer. Dress and get out of the house, go ice fishing or to a ice festival.

Nope, use to but years ago my body's temperature gauge went out and now, no matter how many layers I wear, if I get chilled it goes right to my bones and gives me flu like syptoms, that last for a couple of days.
Living in MI, I've done all that with snowmobiling my fav. My friends and doc call me a walking medical disaster
  • we like to go the park and walk around with the dogs, we also go to the zoo when they open it up. we might try to cross county ski- our friends have asked us to go with them this year. Goshen has the first Friday's so we enjoy that too. still winter does seem to go on.......

I like to go to RVparkreviews.com and check out campgrounds in detail. I'll even use Google earth to check them out. Maybe even put together a trip to someplace (it was Arches Nat. park last time) we wont really go just to engulf myself in it.
It takes my mind off the miserable weather for a while and the fact that we wont get out for another 4 months.

Doing that would make me jealous of where I can't go. We own our own small business so I have to usually stay within a hr of home, at least during the week, in case I'm needed at work. We normally just camp locally but we still enjoy that.
I try to take the kids at least a couple of times in the summer, for a long weekend, but it's still just in MI and there is a lot to see here.

  • I wish there was a way to speed it up- today we are planning trips for the upcoming season. when I pull in the drive I see the camper and think about the fun we had last year- and the fun we will have this year.

  • I'm confused.

I just came back from several weeks of laughing and happiness. Where is this BS you are referring to?
