All of my vent caps just fell apart by themselves. Instead of replacing with something that will fall apart again, I took 3 aluminum cat food cans, drilled a single hole in the center, then bolted those caps which I painted white to the spring steel piece that fits into the stack. They stay put while traveling and will not sun bake and fall apart.
