Unexpected tire damage
I just inspected my 30' fifth wheel and discovered that one of the tires has a roughly 5"x10" spot where all of the tread wore off. The damage is on the outer edge where the tread meets the sidewall....

The separation (bubble) is the damage. It caused the accelerated tread wear, which was the symptom.
