I had a simular situation. I stopped to help a family with a pop up camper with a shifted axle as the U bolt came loose. Every since I check and retorque spring bolts twice a year. They usually need re-tightening for the first two years then they stay tight. I believe it has saved me problems. Goes around comes around.
