We have USAA including emergency road service. It has a wide range of services and solid protection, but we also carry AAA just as a back up and for other coverage unrelated to RV'g. We have not had to use it.
As you may know, there is no better insurance anywhere than USAA.
Sorry to rain on your (USAA) parade.
Off topic - but the last sentence above is incorrect!.:(
It's unfortunate that USAA doesn't compete - as they claim they do.
Kinda like Progressive - the smoke screen reels you in.
A company for Vets and their families must be *THE* best, huh!..;)
You are in CA - Wawanesa will -and does- beat USAA, usually by a substantial amount. You must qualify as a good driver.
No agents to get a "cut" of what they write.
No "bundling" req'd - or discount if you have homeowners with them.
(Only write one year -no 6 month- policies in CA & OR)
The back up for CoachNet, GS, etc -
AMA - American Motorcyclist Association will tow whatever you have (not just MCs) - including RVs, etc. - as part of your $45. per year membership. Distance is limited to 35 miles.
Doesn't matter whether you have a MC or not.
Back on topic - to answer the OPs question = NO.
However, many insurance companies have a towing & roadside service "add-on" to their policies.
Usually it's not expensive - BUT (also usually) you must pay, then submit the bill for reimbursement.
Check with your insurer (USAA) to see what it covers, limitations, etc. Read *carefully*!
A poster mentioned a particular towing company.
ALL Motor Clubs contract with tow operators all over the US.
ALL Motor Clubs are members of parent companies who actually underwrite the policies (that includes GS & CN).
You call GS or CN from wherever you are - they call a contract company in the area where you are located.
Good or bad service has nothing to do with your ERS.
(The tow operator may be busy at the time with other "obligations")
In the case of *INSURANCE* companies - *YOU* contact the tow operator.
There's no contract with an ERS - so the operator can charge whatever (his) going rate is. If you paid above the covered amount - you pay the overage.
Again - read the coverage carefully!.:h
BTW - my choice for a Motor Club (ERS) is US Rider..;)
Food for thought:
How many equestrians (with horses) are there all over the USA compared to RVs?
Don't know the answer, but I'll bet they outnumber "us"!.:W
Those folks haul sensitive, *very* expensive "cargo".
US Rider is the only ERS that will tow a trailer containing live animals.
Covers all your vehicles, tow vehicles, MHs, 5ths etc. - whether horses are on board or not.
Ownership of hay burners *not* required.
