Were looking for user experience with USAA towing insurance. Our agent says we no longer need our current insurance and that we can dispense with it. Does anyone have experience with USAA road side claims? We have a diesel truck and 26 ft 5th wheel which would not be cheap to have serviced should there be an issue.ThanksBill and Carole

Have USAA insurance, towing etc, for more than 50 years. I or my DW used them mostly for changing tires etc. All our children and driving age grandchildren have used them for every imaginable situation. USAA As has always come through. Don't know specifically about towing but I trust them to perform exactly as they say they will so were I you I would call them and ask.

I've had USAA insurance for many years and didn't realize that they provided roadside service. Where to look?

Don't know about USAA TOWING insurance, but for $99 to $109 a year, Good Sams ERS or Coachnet will tow every vehicle you own, including your TT, 5er, MH, whatever you own to be towed to nearest dealership...They will do unlocks, change tires and deliver fuel, as well as help you map a route if you need it. The insurance offerings are hard to beat for the price. A lot on RV.NET won't leave home without Good Sams ERS or Coachnet, and I'm one of them. I have Coachnet now, but both have more than paid for themselves over the years I've carried one or the other.

Called USAA -They confirmed imgoin4it's post. If you call USAA they will make the arrangements to provide tow service, mechanic, etc. In those cases where you make the arrangements it can be claimed for reimbursement.

Sorry if I am highjacking the thread - I have USAA and have never made a claim, so I can't comment on that. I do carry AAA car/RV (gold membership if I remember right). I carry because they will tow both truck and trailer (two tow trucks) if I need. I have not had that happen, but am glad I have it just in case. Can anyone comment on AAA gold membership?

GS ERS and Coachnet will tow both rv and TV also, even if it takes two tow trucks...
