You are bumper to bumper backed up potentially for miles, blocking offramps behind you. All while a perfectly open lane is sitting there empty.

You simply don't get it!!! The open lane does NOT go thru. It's open the last bit because most courteous drivers have already formed into the single line that goes thru.
