using a portable O2 concentrator in RV?

I have to include 2 liters of O2 at night with my CPAP. The house concentrator is heavy to move in an out of motorhome. Has anyone gone to a portable for both home and RV. Some of the portables have batteries that last 11-12 hours which would be fine for my night only use. Any advise??

  • I know of some one on the T&TTT forum who has done this with a teardrop trailer so no reason you can't. You should be able to tie in to your RV system either 12 or 120.
  • I use a portable in the RV it plugs into 12 volt or 120. The batteries only last me about 3 hours on 2 liters . I use mine at night with a cpap to. their is a big battery difference between constant 02 witch you need with a CPAP. than pulse 02 that only works when you breath inn with you nose , pause mode will not work with your CPAP.
  • John, thank you for your advise. The home concentrator is really heavy and bulky. Moving it in and out on the frequent trips we take is getting way too old!! I will look for one that will work with the CPAP.

  • DH uses a big honkin' oxygen concentrator at home and that thing is a beast to put in our little trailer. When we know we're going out of town, DH contacts his oxygen supplier for a smaller portable unit. The company delivers the unit and picks it back up when we get home.
  • I use an Eclipse concentrator mounted on a two wheel cart. It is a little heavy but goes in and out fairly easily.
