To answer your question,no, it does not do a good job of flushing out the tank. We normally use the 3 inch sewer hose, purchased a macerator for a summer workamping job that required us to pump our waste about 75 feet away. It worked good, however, when we left the smell coming from the tank was bad. It took us about 2 weeks of putting ice, oxyclean, dawn and whatever else to get it cleaned out. There was a layer of sludge on the bottom of the black tank from "no whoosh effect". We will use it again only when we have to and will never use it for 4 months again.
