Va State Parks & Dog fees
A while back we had a thread going with the pro's and con's of the Va State Park Dog fee's ($5 per night, per dog-max 3 nights) there were a lot of thoughts of better ways to offset the "cost" of pet'...

I can understand the fee structure and yes, we paid for our dog to camp in Virginia when she lived with us. The problem is that campers with pets simply do not follow the rules. Every time we have camped in a Virginia State Park, we encountered people with pets off leash. They spend all their time screaming at the dog trying to get it to return to their site, and many dog owners just do not pick up after their pet. And you haven't lived until you have had to listen to a dog bark nonstop. I know that most pet owners are responsible but like most things, the few ruin it for the many.
