Va State Parks & Dog fees
A while back we had a thread going with the pro's and con's of the Va State Park Dog fee's ($5 per night, per dog-max 3 nights) there were a lot of thoughts of better ways to offset the "cost" of pet'...

Far easier to stay away when you live in CA then it is when you live 20 miles from the border. I don't like the dog fees, but have to give credit where credit is due. When some(most?) other states are leaving their park systems to rot and decay, VA has been adding big rig capable sites, along with bath houses with private shower rooms, and paved roads and pads. The money has to come from somewhere. They also consistantly rank very high against other park systems, and first a couple of times in recent years. We will continue to visit.
