I'm glad the JB weld worked !!! It's amazing what you can fix with that stuff. (Though I have found times it didn't work too)

But, I don't remember how to diagram a sentence. In fact, I don't think that I've ever heard of it. I don't think they taught that in MN when I was a boy. Maybe they do now.

The slider valve is closed

The rod comes all the way out ? Of the assembly

Take the rod go to the hardware store

By the next size larger "all thread rod"

Grind/sharpen the tip so it will start into the existing stripped hole is the valve slider

Drill out the entry hole where the rod goes into the assembly

Screw in the new oversize rod you made
And open the dump valve

Now you can install a new valve assembly

OOPS missed the JB WELD worked
good, now onward to the replacement

I stand corrected

Some posters do not understand that the valve rod has come off the slider with the valve in the closed position. OP must dump the holding tank in order to replace the valve assembly.

Mine broke too but a real PITA to get too. I just put one of these on and have been using it ever since.link

Again for those who didn’t understand my first post. The ROD has pulled loose from the valve slider and did come completely out. It will not reset itself into the slider. The rod has a dimple on the end that is SUPPOSED to hold it on the slider. I do lubricate the slider by drilling a small hole above the pull rod and shooting in some white grease and keep a small screw in the hole to help keep it sealed.

In a situation like that, ViceGrips are your friend. You can at least get ahold of the rod to push or pull it. Then go get a new valve assembly.
