Trust me, if I was that dad the outcome would have been different. Same with if I was the driver. Instead of trying to contact the other person telepathically, I would have rolled down the window and communicated with words. I would have said I think my rig is a little to wide for this crossing do you mind moving while I pull through. Solved.
