Just curious, How would 5 kids know, how wide a 5th wheel would swing?
And unless the Dad drives a 5th wheel how would he know?

I drive a MH I have no clue how wide a 5th wheel will swing,

For all they know, you are watching them fish, when you stopped

Have you considered, maybe you should have got out of your truck, and explained your concern to them?
Maybe they were not being disrespectful, Maybe they just did not know, any better?
