DH is a very cautious and capable tow driver.
Pulling our boat through camp - fortunately 10 mph or less - he watches carefully.
As careful as he is he couldn't have seen the teeny tiny little boy on a tricycle bike who veered into the roadway from the opposite side basically coming at the side/under. Our teenage son - non driver - did Thank You Lord. DS said that he saw the Tip of the child's bike helmet in his peripheral vision. Even at creeper speed can you imagine what a full size truck could do to a baby? It wouldn't have been DH's "fault" but how would you live with yourself?
It is important for all parties to be aware - and guardians to be vigilant - at all times but certainly in camp situations.
That said "my way or the highway" is a dangerous attitude to have. I imagine OP was just frustrated. There are accidents (baby on trike had very panicked parent hot on his heels) and there are people who seem clueless
I have seen kids ride bikes into the water at the boat ramp. Why?
I would have moved my kids back.
