The only situation I can see where it would be legal would be in a deadly force situation. I don't think there is anywhere in the penal code that defines in what way it can be utilized.
I actually did a net search on whether or not it's ever "legal" and found nothing. I would think in the case that you describe it would be considered justifiable, which isn't the same as legal, but still accepted. Interesting to think about though.
So to answer your question, unless the kid will harm themselves, me or my family or someone else or something ... Then there on their own. That's what they have parents for, not my job.
Fair enough. I tend to be a little less laid back and a little more "interfering" as some might put it. Most of the time my behavior will be directed towards the parents, not the kids, because most of the time it's the parent's fault as to what's happening. Yes, I know, someday I'm going to get my butt kicked and probably deservedly so, but there are times whether it's my place or not I will make a comment or two. Will NOT get physical, except if I see kids bullying. But I'm learning how to be constructive and not critical. Helps that I deal with kids all the time. You learn a lot when you're around kids with rifles all the time! :B
